Description of Services Provided:
This service provides for the comprehensive medical management of serious and disabling mental illness. The team includes psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses. Physician services may include assessment, medication management, brief psychotherapy and coordination of other Mental Health Center services. Nursing services may include assessment, triage, coordination, education, and programs that assist with medication compliance. Admission criteria for this service are that the client be in need of a psychiatric assessment and/or that the client be in need of symptom stabilization and on-going symptom management. Nursing staff may assist with administering medication, filling medication organizer boxes, delivering labeled medications to select clients, providing education about mental illness, and observing the client's self administration of medications.
