Position: RN/LPN (On-call)

Close Date: Open Until Filled

Hours: Shifts vary depending on scheduling needs with rotating weekends & some holidays

Job Summary & Essential Job Responsibilities: Provide nursing assessment and triage by phone with availability to provide direct care on site when necessary characterized by interventions that promote and foster health, assess dysfunction, assist consumers to regain or improve their coping abilities, and prevent further disability.  These interventions focus on psychiatric-mental health crisis stabilization consumers and outpatient consumers.  Includes health promotion and health maintenance, possible intake screening and evaluation, case management, provision of a therapeutic environment, tracking consumers and assisting them with self-care activities, and monitoring psycho-biological treatment regimens, health teaching, counseling and possible crisis intervention.  The RN functions as an active member of a team of professionals in the delivery of community based mental health treatment and rehabilitative services.

Qualifications: Ability to effectively provide leadership, training and consultation to a diverse group of professionals; ability to relate effectively with administration, consumers and family members and represent the Center in a positive manner within the community; ability to develop therapeutic alliances, perform assessments, and develop practical treatment approaches for and with consumers who are experiencing symptoms of severe and persistent mental illness; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.  Ability to work required shifts & on-call hours as needed.

Education & Experience: This position requires a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license in the State of Montana.  Prefer training or experience in community based psychiatric treatment of individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness, and comprehensive and current knowledge of psychotropic medications and best nursing practices, and understanding of crisis intervention and the use of services as alternatives to in-hospital care.  EOE
