For Family and Friends
Coping with a family member or friend whose life is embroiled in addiction is stressful. This often leaves family members feeling hopeless and not knowing where to turn. Recovery Center Missoula offers a Care Group to support family and friends of recovering or non-recovering individuals. Community supports such as Al-Anon or Nar-Anon can also be helpful and supportive to family members and friends to increase understanding of the addictive process and reduce enabling behaviors which can perpetuate the problem.

Recovery Center Missoula believes family and other significant relationships play a vital role in the recovery process. Recovery Center Missoula offers family programming to enhance and strengthen family relationships. This program is available for all families suffering from the pain of addiction; even those who are unable to remain together. In all situations, we work to increase personal insight and situational understanding for the patient and their family members, emphasizing empowerment which leads to healthier relationships.
Counseling staff will facilitate inviting family members and significant others to come to the program, which consists of lectures, videos, group therapy, and individual family sessions. Involving family members and significant others in the treatment process is important to the overall health and well-being of your family unit, with research demonstrating recovery rates increase by as much as 50% when family is involved in the treatment process. Additional sessions can be available during the week to enhance family communication skills to resolve present problems and have the tools to address future issues.
